Glød
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Glød is a science-backed glow-up coaching app for adults (18+). We built it
to keep your personal information private by default — most of what you do
never leaves your phone. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't,
and the choices you have.
What stays on your device
The following are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded
to us:
- Your plan, goals, habits, weekly check-ins, and streaks.
- Your progress selfies and skin-tracking photos.
- Your questions to the on-device AI coach, which runs entirely
offline on your phone.
- Health-related answers, including any eligibility questions.
What is processed off-device
- Aging-preview photos. Only if you choose to generate an
AI "future self" preview, the photo you select is sent to our image
provider (OpenAI) to create that image. It is used to produce your preview
and is not stored by the Glød app. OpenAI does not use images or other
content submitted through its API to train its models. Previews are
illustrative estimates, not predictions or medical assessments.
- Account email (Pro). If you log in to unlock Pro, we use
your email address to authenticate your account and confirm subscription
status. Subscriptions are sold and managed on our website.
- Anonymous usage analytics. We collect anonymous,
aggregated event counts (for example, which screens are opened) through our
analytics provider (PostHog) to improve the app. These never include your
goals, check-ins, notes, coach prompts, health data, or photos.
- Crash & error reports. If the app crashes or hits an
error, we may collect a diagnostic report (such as the error and device/OS
type) through our error-reporting provider (Sentry) to fix bugs. We
configure it not to send personal identifiers, your content, health data,
or photos.
Service providers
We share the limited data described above only with providers that process it
on our behalf to run the Service, under their own terms and privacy policies:
OpenAI (only the photo you choose to generate an aging preview
from), Stripe (subscription billing on our website),
Apple (subscription billing when you subscribe through the App
Store), PostHog (anonymous analytics), Sentry
(crash/error diagnostics), and Cloudflare (website hosting and
secure storage of the pre-launch waitlist). We do not sell your personal
information.
Waitlist & emails (website)
If you join the pre-launch waitlist on our website, we collect your
email address and, if you came from a referral link or invite
others, basic referral details (a referral code, and which
code referred you) so we can place you on the list and credit referrals. We use
your email to tell you when Glød opens and about your founding spot. This data
is stored on Cloudflare on our behalf.
- Marketing emails are opt-in. We only send glow tips and
founding offers if you tick the optional consent box when you join; we
record the time you consented. Joining without ticking it means you'll only
hear from us about the launch itself.
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every marketing email includes an
unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to opt out or to have your
email removed from the waitlist entirely.
Apple Health (optional)
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Glød requests read-only
access to a limited set of data — steps, sleep, and workouts —
for one purpose: to automatically check off the matching daily habits you've
chosen, so you don't have to log something your phone or watch already
recorded. This data is:
- Read on your device only and used solely to mark habits
complete. It is never uploaded to our servers, sold, or
shared with any third party.
- Never used for advertising or marketing.
- Not stored by Glød beyond your device's own Apple Health store — we keep
no copy. Disconnecting (in the app, or in iOS Settings › Health › Data
Access) simply stops the reads.
Data that other devices sync into Apple Health (for example Apple Watch,
Garmin, or Oura) is treated exactly the same way.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data, health information, or photos.
- We never upload your progress photos or Apple Health data to our servers.
- We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing.
- We don't use your private data to train models.
Your choices & rights
- Delete everything. In the app, go to the You
tab → Account → Delete account & data. This
erases your on-device data and deletes your account record on our server.
It cannot be undone.
- Log out at any time without deleting your data.
- Access / correction. To request a copy of, or
corrections to, any account data we hold, email us (below).
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Pro, billing is handled by Stripe (when you
subscribe on our website) or by Apple (when you subscribe through
the App Store), depending on where you purchase. Deleting your account in the app
removes your account data; to stop billing, cancel your subscription where you
purchased it (the in-app Manage subscription link takes you there).
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal
information we collect and how we use it (described above), to request access
to or deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to
not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not
sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined
under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use sensitive personal information for
purposes beyond providing the Service. To exercise any of these rights, email
us at vilde@vevatne.no; you may use an
authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
EEA, UK & Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you use Glød in the European Economic Area (including Norway), the United
Kingdom, or Switzerland, this section applies. The data controller
is Vilde Vevatne (doing business as Glød); contact
vilde@vevatne.no.
- Legal bases. We rely on: your consent (the photo
you choose to generate an aging preview, optional Apple Health access, and
optional marketing emails); performance of a contract (authenticating
your account and providing Pro); and our legitimate interests in
keeping the Service secure, fixing bugs, and understanding anonymous,
aggregated usage.
- Photos (sensitive data). A photo of your face or skin can
be sensitive. We process an aging-preview photo only with your explicit
consent and solely to generate the illustrative image
you requested — never to identify or recognise you, never to
build a biometric profile, and never to train AI models. The photo is sent to
our image provider to create the preview and is not stored by
us afterwards. Your progress and skin photos stay on your device. You can
withdraw consent at any time by not generating previews and by deleting your
data.
- International transfers. Some providers (for example OpenAI,
Stripe, PostHog, Sentry, Cloudflare, and Apple) process data in the United
States. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA/UK, we rely on
appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual
Clauses (and the UK Addendum).
- Retention. We keep your account email only while your
account is active and delete it when you delete your account. Preview photos
are not retained by us; anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics are kept only
as long as needed for those purposes.
- Your rights. You have the right to access, rectify, erase,
restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw
consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To
exercise them, email vilde@vevatne.no.
- Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with your local
supervisory authority — for example, in Norway, Datatilsynet;
in the UK, the ICO; or the authority where you live.
Children
Glød is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be
reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
