Welcome to Sema Private AI. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Sema.

What Sema is

Sema is a private AI chat and memory app. It helps you ask questions, keep local memories, search those memories, and review generated action surfaces based on context you choose to provide.

AI answers

Sema can use on-device AI when available. AI answers may be incomplete or incorrect, so you should independently verify important medical, legal, financial, safety, or time-sensitive information.

Your data

Sema stores chats, memories, and permission history on your device. There is no Sema account or server copy in this build. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Model downloads

If your device cannot use Apple Foundation Models, Sema may offer to download an on-device Gemma model. The download is for model weights only; your chats and memories are not sent with that download.

Payments

Sema is fully usable for free. An optional auto-renewable subscription, Sema Pro, adds public web search for questions the on-device AI cannot know yet. Sema Pro costs $4.99/month or $24.99/year and is billed through your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.

Public web search

When you allow web search, Sema may send your search question to Brave Search, our public web search provider, to fetch results for your question. Sema removes private context (names, contact details, and "my…" style personal references) before sending a query. Your chats, memories, prompts, generated answers, device sources, and identity are never sent with a search. You can allow or turn off web search in the app's Settings at any time. Apple Standard EULA

Sema is licensed, not sold. Your use of the iOS app is also governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These terms supplement that EULA.
